SOUL WINNING: AN UNUSUAL STRATEGY

Today’s Lesson
Prayer Point – Ask the Lord to grant you wisdom to win more souls to the kingdom.

Previous Knowledge – Teacher should ask students to mention what they benefited from last week’s lesson. Assistant teacher should mark the workbook.

1. Opening

A.  BIBLE PASSAGE – I Corinthians 9:19-23

B. Memory Verse “For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.” I Cor. 9:19.

C.Lesson Introduction – Our Captain, the Lord Jesus Christ, gave us a mandate. Today, we will take a look at the mandate and strategies to help us fulfill this important mandate. May the Holy Spirit of our understanding, in Jesus’ name.

A. Lesson Aim – To study various strategies that can be used in soul winning.

B. Teaching Objectives and Lesson Plan

i. At the end of the lesson, students should be able to understand the primary mandate of believers.

ii. They should also be able to discover various strategies that could be used to win souls.

To achieve these objectives, teacher should explain the primary mandate for believers. Teacher should also mention the various strategies that are available for soul wining. Teacher should conclude by encouraging students to adopt any of the strategies to win souls to God’s kingdom.

C. Text Review - I Corinthians 9:19-23

What have you done for the Gospel’s sake?
Paul did the following for the sake of the gospel:

i. He became servant unto all.

ii. He became a jew unto the jews

iii. He was under the law for those that were under the law.
iv. He was without the law to them that were without to Gog (but he was under the law to Christ).
v. He became weak to those who were weak.
vi. He became all things to all men. Prison poor traveller, simple, tough, wise, foolish, strong. That he might by all means save some.
What "all things “and by "all means“approaches/strategies have you adopted for the sake of the gospel?

D. Teaching Method - Teacher should use lecture teaching method.

E. Time Management - 15 minutes for Opening, 30 minutes for Lesson Outline, Summary, Conclusion and Assignment, 15 minutes for General Review.

2. Lesson Outlines
i. LESSON OUTLINE 1 - PRIMARY MANDATE OF BELIEVERS
i. The primary mandate of all believers is to make soul winning a continuous practice till Jesus comes back in power and glory. Acts 1:6-8; 2Tim.4:5.
To achieve the mandate, believers must:
i. Go to the whole world.
ii. Preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16: 15
iii. The souls won must be prayed for regularly. John 15: 16
iv. The young souls must be followed up to avoid loss. I Cor. 1:28
v.   The young souls must be catered/ provided for. Col. 1: 19
vi. The less privileged must be attended to. Matt. 25:41-45
Believers must note that the Lord's coming is at hand.
Class Activity 1- What are the obstacles to soul winning?
II. LESSON OUTLINE 2. UNUSUAL STRATEGIES
Believers can use any of the following strategies or more to win souls for God's kingdom.

one on one, free of charge. Showing of exceptional care to the counselees after meeting with them.
•      Through free medical care/visiting of hospital, orphanages from time to time - Acts 20:34-35.
•      Signing-up with organisations like the Red Cross and witnessing for Christ as you minister to people in devastated areas - Matt 10:32.

Class Activity 2- Each student should mention which of the ten strategies so identified has been adopted for the purpose of the kingdom and why?

Summary: Use "all things" and "all "means" available at your disposal to preach the gospel.

Conclusion: Ensure you break every barrier that limits your contact with souls.
